People gave me some really great things…

Dad surprised me with a beautiful mandolin.

Lily's package arrived on Christmas morning and these were our gifts

Sally gave me an amazing iron dressform
Janette magically found the perfect vintage swimsuit for me!

Leo is restoring Samson for me! (That’s my 1972 Volkswagen Beetle that I paid cash for with my Sonic Carhop money when I was 16). I destroyed Sam’s engine back in college, and he’s been collecting dust ever since. Now Leo is bringing him back to life! And it’s going to be great fun to drive it around.

Doesn't it look beautiful?! It's such a wonderful car.

It was a wonderful holiday full of surprises. I always get so involved in the gifts I’m giving to people that I sometimes forget about the joys of receiving thoughful gifts from family and friends. Thank you to everyone who made this a happy Christmas!
Fun! I’m so glad you’re bliggity bloggin’. Love the doggy legwarmers in particular! You guys are hilarious. We’re enjoying our book thingy (dunno what it’s called) and think of you two each time we see it! We played Big Boggle at this really great restaurant in St. Paul and it was pathetic… I’m getting rusty. Hopefully we can get together in 2009 and wordgame it up. Have a fantastic New Year!
1) Can Leo please also restore my yellow bug from high school?? It just needs an alternator, that’s all! I’ll even buy the red bow to put on the hood to make it official.
2) The swimsuit find really was magical. I’m so glad you love it!! It was so perfect that I was *slightly* tempted to keep it for myself, but what kind of friend would I be to keep THAT suit from RACHEL KEMPF? It’s so you! (It’s even kind of like the ones in that 1950 Harper’s Bazaar ad!) Thanks for the shout out, and I can’t wait to see you in it!
